ABOUT THE 400 CLUB

The 400 Club from Refreshment is a unique way to get behind us and support our appeal to plant mission hubs across the UK.

Over the course of our five-year appeal, we want to purchase 8 buildings across the UK that will be at the forefront of mission. From our training centre in Blackpool, we will look to provide an exciting programme for Christian ex-offenders to learn life-skills, discipleship and working experience by ‘Breaking the Chains’. We will also host mission teams for 10 people and regularly continue to support people for one-off retreats and mission experiences.

From 7 further mission hubs across the UK, we will host chat café’s, Christian resource centres and a wide range of activities to help people share the gospel, bless the church and meet the culture. Our buildings will be at the heart of communities in the North-West, the Midlands, the South Coast, Wales and Scotland, ran by pioneer missionaries. Our aim is for each hub to be there as the fifth emergency service, serving their towns 24-7.

To do this and to achieve our goal, we are looking for a network of people to join the 400 club and set themselves a target of raising at least £400 for Refreshment UK before 31st March 2030. Over the next five years, you can do this in any combination of the following:

MAKE A ONE-OFF DONATION - you can do this by giving £400 in one go or choose to make several donations across the five-year period - whenever it is convenient to you. £80 a year will get you to £400.
GET SPONSORED – you can take any challenge or any number of challenges to make it to £400. Join us at the Resilience Race in Blackpool or compete in your own challenge. You can purchase Refreshment branded clothing to help with your sponsorship. 40 friends giving £10 each will get you there!
ORGANISE AN EVENT – local fundraising is an amazing way to hit your £400 target, and we can offer you support to organise events that would support this. Auctions, coffee evenings, concerts – whatever you feel!
TAKE A COLLECTING BOX – we can provide you with collection boxes that will store your loose change. You can bank it for us or drop it off with us.

The funds raised in the 400 Club go directly to support our appeal to buy buildings for our mission hubs, but you can also support our ongoing costs monthly by giving by Direct Debit, or in other ways.

BECOME A REGULAR GIVER – £7 a month is all it takes to keep our mission hubs going across the UK – sign up to be one of our regular givers and join the 400 Club that way.
ATTEND AN EVENT AND PROGRAMME - we organise large scale events such as Magnify, The Refreshers Conference and a weekly programme of activities. Support our ministry by being part of this and we can develop our ministry across the UK.
STAY AT THE REFRESH CENTRE - book into our mission training centre in South Shore for a retreat and contribute to the life of the ministry.
DONATE ITEMS FOR AUCTION OR RETAIL - join our charity retail scheme and donate your items for us to sell or auction off. All of these ways help us reach our target each year.

How does the 400 Club work?

If you choose to become a member of the 400 Club, we will do the following:

On registration, send you a pen and membership card with your unique club number. We can also provide you with other resources to help with your fundraising efforts. Every time you donate using your number, we will record it in your 400 Club account.
Every month, we will send out an email letting you know how much you have managed to raise and how close you are to your £400 target.
Each month, we will reward the following with a 400 Club reward item. They will be given to the following:
- Top Donor of the Month – the person who has given the most that month
- Top Sponsored Fundraiser of the Month – the person who has raised the month via a sponsored event
- The Best Person going above and beyond – the member of the club who takes on the most amazing or impressive challenge
- Special Mention – highlighting someone at random
On our website at the400club.org.uk, you can join the community and each month, we will publish a list of people who have made their target and the latest leaderboard too, if you are motivated that way. People can choose to remain anonymous.
When you hit your £400 target, we will send a 400 Club mug and thank you certificate. Of course, you can carry on and raise more!
The 400 Club members get discounts on items from Refreshment and other partners.

You can give a one-off donation, fundraising, attend an event or do any combination of the three – however you feel you can do it, it’s up to you. Offer us your prayers, provision or participation - and ultimately, in the 400 Club, add your presence to our number. Be an ambassador of our mission across the UK.
